Surface plasmon resonance (SPR) is the group oscillation of valence electrons[citation needed] in a solid stimulated by event light.
The resonance condition is made if the frequency of mild photons suits the natural regularity of surface electrons oscillating against the restoring pressure of positive nuclei. SPR in nanometer-sized structures is called localized surface plasmon resonance.
